| When In Doubt, CustomizeThom and I decided to take a day-trip to Shenzen in order to see with our own eyes what some Hong Konger's told us was a 'shoppers paradise'.After a short and painless train-ride and little walk through immigrations, we were there... and immediately were pounced on by people telling us where to go 'to buy best bargain', dragging me by the arm down an escalator that was going upwards (where I proceeded to scold the man so loudly that he let go and walked away), and being shouted at from each corner from people who wanted us to enter their shops. After 15 minutes I was completely exhausted, bedraggled and pale, and I begged Thom to follow me to the Shangri-la hotel to take refuge for a few minutes to recuperate. After a few breaths of cold air-conditioned Shangri-La air, Thom was rearing to go, so I sort of blindly followed him around for hours, until around 9pm, where I begged him for a food-break. After food, and because It was getting late, the crowds finally diminished and the shop-keepers were so tired from screeching all day that it was infinitely quieter. Suddenly, in more peaceful settings, my blurry eyesight cleared up, and I could actually see bags... shoes... jewelry. I ended up finding a real leather bag for 100 RMB, but then realized that it was knock-off D&G. I love massive leather bags, but I am not so fond of having a beautiful bag - and when asked where I got it - having to admit that it was a China fake for peanuts... so I dragged Thom back to the jewelry section where I had bought some beautiful real champagne colored pearl earrings earlier that day, and I bought some bohemian vintage-ish earrings. The next day I bought some Krazy Glue for leather and customized that D&G sign away.I love it so much more now. When in doubt, customize. :) | | |
| So I think I Might Be In LoveSo
I found the badass, higher-heeled versions of the Louboutins. They're
beautiful, and my size is obviously sold out everywhere. They dont look
as clunky or massive in real life, but they would be good for running
to castings and to uni in full form.

| MY FALL 2007 MUST-HAVES
I'm already dreaming myself away to my new flat in London. ... well dreaming myself away, period.
LOUBOUTIN ANKLE BOOTS

I
am absolutely obsessed with these shoes. They're brilliant, except
they're not as high as I wished them to be (I am not a six-foot eastern
European name Olga, so I need a little love in the high heel
department). I tried them on and they were very comfortable, even
though they had perilously thin stiletto heels. I usually prefer them
chunkier.
I
really, really, REALLY want to buy them. They go perfectly with a pair
of battered skinny jeans and just as fabulously with black tights and a
dress.
I'm
waiting for that massive job, which I am short listed for, to tell me
that I am the one they want. *praying*. Even though I told J that I
would have our bedroom wallpapered with an amazing print if I got it.
(It's currently salmon pink, judging by the pictures - YUCK).
Hell, if I get the job, I can do both, AND fly J and I to some lovely weekend vacation.
They
have a safer version with no gold trimmings and black leather instead
of latex shine - BUT I'm young and want to have fun! I have years ahead
of me when I can wear the 'safe' shoes.
BLACK & COLOURED TIGHTS

Image from What to Wear Daily**I
especially love what Irina L is wearing (Kate's Topshop Girl - first
from the Left). I've now seen that outfit on What to Wear Daily,
Italian Vogue, and American Vogue - Viva La Vie Boheme!
SPECIFICALLY THESE ONES:

Image from Wolford Boutique London
I am not a very 'bright colour' girl, so I want the Mazarine Blue (for ME that's daring), the traditional Black, and Anthracite. LAST, BUT NOT LEAST: 2 TRILBY HATS (from a real, British Millinery Shop)
(1 Black with a shorter brim, and brown with a leather band and a wider brim)
Call me a late adaptor, but it took a while to really want these hats, despite the fact that they have been popular for ages.
It
has been the rainiest summer yet in London, and I am predicting some
pretty sour weather ahead of me. I always wear a hat when the weather
is rainy and wet, cause I cant stand umbrellas. I always lose them.
Hats keep the rain out of my face and my face out of the rain.
